Little House on the Prairie (PILOT)

Netflix loves its Westerns. This week, it released a new adaptation of Little House on the Prairie. Beginning in post–Civil War America, the series follows Charles and Caroline Ingalls, their daughters Mary and Laura, and their dog Jack as they leave Wisconsin, travel to Kansas, and attempt to build a new life on the prairie.

The pilot we watched is called “Independence.” On the pod, we break down each of our pros and cons, from the scenery and CGI to how well Pa plays the fiddle. We discuss this adaptation’s main changes, the history behind the story, and the setup it presents for the future.
