Welp, that's a bad way to start a season. The Kings and their fans were hit across the head with the news of Ben Simmons tearing his achilles in practice over the weekend, and that set the stage for the unfortunate showing to begin their season in LA.
Without Simmons, the Kings were limited with options to initiate the offense, and it wasn't pretty. That was only eclipsed by how bad their defense was throughout the game. If that sounds familiar, it's because that's what we've been seeing since last year and in preseason, and it's now carried over to this regular season.
The saving grace may be that this is only just the 1st game and they could begin to finally build chemistry and get familiar as a team. Or it could be this is what we are in for the rest of the season. Let's just hope it's the former.
