When you have a disagreement it sometimes feel like all anyone wants is to be "right". But I believe that it's not that they want to be right, they just want to be understood from their point of view.
To be heard. To be acknowledged. To be seen.
When we diminish another person's feelings through criticism or by challenging the the way they see things, we close the door to true connection and communication.
Learn to listen. Try not to talk someone out of their feelings even if you don't agree with it. Then you share your feelings, not to prove you are right, but to help them understand you better.
