It's October and that means stations and streaming services are rolling out their bloodiest, goriest, and most violent movies as Hollywood celebrates evil. But watching bloody movies, playing savage video games, and even seeing the violence that plays out on the news everyday comes with a high cost. Studies have shown that they make us apathetic to the suffering of others, as well as desensitizing us to that which should shock us - including the bloody, gory animal sacrifices of the Old Testament, and most especially, the violent and horrific price Jesus paid for us at His crucifixion. How do we clear this hurdle? The book of Hebrews has some wise words to help us!
