Can Myanmar Rebuild International Legitimacy?

Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing has made his first official visit to Thailand since assuming the presidency, signalling an effort to restore diplomatic engagement despite ongoing international sanctions and a civil war at home. The visit comes alongside renewed attention on Aung San Suu Kyi following her first meeting with an International Committee of the Red Cross representative in years, as well as growing regional discussions on refugees, border security, and labour cooperation. Do these developments point to a genuine shift towards dialogue, or are they simply an attempt to normalise Myanmar's military-backed leadership without resolving the country's deep political and humanitarian crisis?
