The Rays pick up a much needed win, beating the Blue Jays 7-1. The Rays would grab the lead in the 2nd inning thanks to a monster home run by Victor Mesa Jr. The Rays would add to their lead in the 3rd inning with a Jonathan Aranda RBI single to make it 2-0. The Blue Jays would get on the board in the 4th to make it 2-1. The Rays pitching staff would shut it down from there. Nick Martinez spearheaded the Rays great pitching night by going 6 IP only allowing 1 run without striking anyone out. The Rays would get 2 big runs in the 5th inning highlighted by a Junior Caminero RBI single to make it 4-1. Cedric Mullins hit a long homer in the 5th to make it 5-1. Junior would add his 2nd RBI of the night in the 8th to make it 6-1. Then Nick Fortes capped of the Rays fantastic offensive night with a solo homer in the 9th to make it 7-1. The Rays will look to add another win tomorrow night vs the Blue Jays.
