The Rays beat up on the Blue Jays, beating them 12-2. The Rays a MLB leading 12th time this month grabbed the lead first. It was an eventful first inning for the Rays that saw then put up 3 runs. Jonny DeLuca hit a 2 RBI single to make it 2-0. Then it was Chandler Simpson who added a RBI single of his own to make it 3-0. The Rays would add 2 more in the top of the 4th highlighted by another DeLuca RBI single to make it 5-0. The runs would not stop there for the Rays. Nick Fortes launched a 3 run homer in the 5th to blow this game wide open and make it 8-0. The Rays added 4 more in the 9th just for good measure highlighted by a Yandy Diaz 3 run bomb to make it 12-2. Drew Rasmussen started for the Rays and held the Blue Jays in check. He went 5 IP giving up 2 runs and striking out 5 to earn the win. The Rays will look for the series win tomorrow night vs the Blue Jays.
