The Toronto Raptors left their final two-way spot open on purpose, and the Dallas Mavericks may be about to cut Moussa Cisse, a 24-year-old shot-blocking center. The man making that call is former Raptors president Masai Ujiri, who hired Bobby Webster as his first hire in Toronto.
In this video, Ben Rogers breaks down the roster crunch in Dallas (16 players for 15 spots, with Dwight Powell on a non-guaranteed deal), the loophole that means Dallas can't bring Cisse back on a two-way deal but Toronto can, and why the Raptors can't claim him off waivers under the hard cap. I also cover who Cisse is, how he'd fit next to Poeltl, Murray-Boyles, and Jackson-Davis with Nate Bittle in a walking boot, and why the Masai-Webster connection makes this so interesting.
Nothing is done yet. Monday is the roster deadline. Would you give Cisse that last two-way spot? Let me know in the comments, and help us get to 45K subscribers!
