The Philadelphia Phillies get a 5-2 win in Los Angeles to finish off the SWEEP of the Angels!
The Angels opened the scoring in the 1st inning when they loaded the bases on Zack Wheeler with no one out. Wheeler limited the damage however, getting a double play off the bat of Moises Ballesteros that went short to first, but allowed a run to score. Then Wheeler struck out Christian Moore ON three pitches to end the threat.
The Phillies’ offense responded in the 3rd when J.T. Realmuto hit a solo homer to center field for his 10th homer of the season. Then in the 7th, Edmundo Sosa came up with another huge hit in this series as he smacked a solo homer to left to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead.
In the 8th, Luis Arraez pinch hit for Sosa with the bases loaded and one out. Arraez tacked on another run with a sac fly RBI to left to give the Phillies a 3-1 lead. Brandon Marsh also delivered a pinch-hit RBI to right field for a 4-1 lead.
In the 9th, Bryce Harper gave the Phillies on a hustle RBI double to shallow left-center.
Wheeler’s day was done after six innings of one-run baseball allowing four hits and issuing three walks.
