Sean Manaea delivered a quality start in his return to the rotation, but it wasn't enough as the New York Mets fell to the Atlanta Braves 3-1.
Manaea went the longest he's gone in an outing this season and it was the first time he's gone six innings since the 2024 season. And on a day where the Mets needed quality and length, Manaea gave them both.
Unfortunately, it went to waste as the Mets offense was quieted in this one. Only 6 hits and only two extra base hits, one coming in the 9th inning, the Mets were unable to do much of anything against Braves starter Martin Perez and the very good and well rested Braves bullpen.
