Behind three home runs, and a 6 RBI night from Bo Bichette, the New York Mets took the opener from the Atlanta Braves, 7-5.
It was a long night at the ballpark, with the game being delayed because of a storm. But once things got underway, the Mets slugged their way in front and held on to beat the Braves in their first meeting of the season.
A fast start for the Mets, with Bo Bichette and Juan Soto going back-to-back in the first inning to give the Mets an early lead.
Nolan McLean battled in this one. He lost his command in the 2nd and coughed back up the lead, but was able to limit the damage to just the two runs over four innings of work.
And then the Mets bullpen hung on over the final five innings to secure the victory.
