Oak View Mall could be getting a pretty big addition, and North Downtown Omaha continues to change fast.
This week we’re talking about the proposed NRG Adventure Park inside the old Younkers at Oak View. The plan calls for around 75,000 square feet of trampolines, climbing walls, VR games and more. It got us talking about what malls like Oak View could look like in the future.
We also take a look at everything happening in North Downtown, including the future Union Omaha soccer stadium, continued growth around Millwork Commons and a new hotel coming to the area.
Dan has the story behind Hay Jay Cafe in Bennington and the meaning behind the name. Jill tells us about the new $1.2 million facility being built by Town & Country Animal Rescue in Papillion.
Plus, plenty of things happening around Omaha this week:
• Midwest Chingona Fest at Stinson Park
• Nelson Farms Fall Fest in Valley
• Beetlejuice at Tipsy Pig
• Blackstone Farnam Fest
• All Hallows’ Eve at Arbor Day Farm
• Haunted TreeRush at Fontenelle Forest
• The Cottonwood Hotel’s Halloween pop-up
• Conscious Comforts and its gluten-free and vegan treats
And we wrap things up by debating some very important Omaha issues, including the proper way to eat chili and cinnamon rolls, College World Series vs. the Henry Doorly Zoo, and whether Omaha could survive Dodge Street with no speed limit.
