Sometimes a positive action can become contagious for other people to follow. Kaedi Cecala was diagnosed with a deadly bone marrow disease. She waited for two months on a stem cell transplant registry. She was finally matched with a lady named Karol who offered the transplant, and Kaedi became cancer-free. When Kaedi got married, Karol and her husband flew to be guests at her wedding. Guess what? Each guest was encouraged to take a simple cheek swab and join the transplant registry. Karol said, “Somewhere out there your Kaedi may still be waiting.” Karol not only helped save the life of Kaedi but suggested a procedure that will probably help a lot of other people to live.
