Would the Knicks really trade Deuce McBride?

New York just won a championship, but maintaining a title contender under the NBA’s second-apron rules means difficult decisions are coming.

Miles McBride is entering the final year of his contract, and the Knicks will eventually have major financial decisions involving Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and the rest of their core.

That creates a fascinating question:

Should Leon Rose trade Deuce before potentially losing leverage?

CP The Fanchise and Ari from Manhattan debate why McBride could become one of New York’s most valuable trade assets.

The Knicks still need additional frontcourt depth behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond, while the additions of Jose Alvarado and Landry Shamet — along with the continued development of Tyler Kolek — could make the guard rotation deep enough to survive without Deuce.

But trading him would also mean losing one of New York’s better perimeter defenders and three-point shooters.

Is that risk worth taking if McBride can help the Knicks acquire a younger big man or another long-term asset?

The guys also examine how championship contenders such as Oklahoma City make similar decisions before role players become more expensive.

Keep Deuce or trade him?
