David Daigle had a vasectomy. Then his wife got pregnant.

What followed was one of the most tumultuous chapters of his life. David says his doctor described the odds as essentially impossible, and for a time he trusted the science more than he trusted his wife. He struggled with alcohol, doubt, fear, and the possibility that everything he thought he knew might be wrong.

Then the baby was born. The DNA test came back. David was the father.

That experience changed the way he saw his life, his language, and the very idea of a miracle.

In this episode we talk about David’s journey from firefighting and saving lives to Body Language Technique, joy, enthusiasm, communication, and the Breaking Normal retreat that somehow made his knees shake more than running into burning buildings. We get into his knee injury that led to a 15-day water fast, another 10-day fast, his interest in dry fasting, the difference between a breakdown and a breakthrough, pre-show nervous poops, and the surprisingly profound metaphor of learning to let your shit go.

David also turns the tables and coaches me through grief around my mother, taking the conversation somewhere neither of us expected.

And because there is apparently no such thing as too much fertility, I sent the man who conceived a child after a vasectomy home with raw freeze-dried bison testicles and elk velvet antler from TribeVitamins.com. 😂

Sometimes your flaws are your features. Sometimes the breakdown is the breakthrough. And sometimes life makes a trillion-to-one argument that the impossible might not be so impossible after all.
