Ohio State Buckeyes’ defense dominates midseason, ranking among the nation’s best in scoring and pass defense despite an underwhelming pass rush. Can Kenyatta Jackson and Eddrick Houston spark the edge and deliver more pressure as key Big Ten matchups loom?
Matt Fontana and Justin Zwick break down the defensive line’s locked spots, the rotating linebacker corps led by Payton Pierce and Christian Alliegro, and the standout secondary featuring Earl Little, Jaylen McClain, and Devin Sanchez. They question whether increased blitzing under Matt Patricia will continue to compensate for sack production and analyze injury updates, including Ja’Kobi Jackson’s setback. Special teams get their due as Connor Hawkins and Joe McGuire’s consistency come under review. With the bye week and a USC showdown on the horizon, are the Buckeyes’ defensive strengths enough to sustain a playoff push?
