For this team interview, DanaMight and Fanilla Slice of Crime City Rollers are here to talk about their team’s journey to competing in and hosting WFTDA Championships in their home city of Malmö, Sweden.
From building a competitive team in a city of just 300,000 to relying on a network of dedicated commuters from across Europe, Crime City has developed a unique team culture rooted in discipline, adaptability, and trust. DanaMight and Fanilla share the story of the league's evolution, the comeback of skaters who had been on extended break, and the deeply motivational leadership of Curly Haar on the bench.
They also break down Crime City’s hard-fought battle against Nantes where it was never an option not to qualify for an invite, Fanilla’s emergence as a clutch jammer, and the team’s ability to stay calm under pressure. Plus, hear about their meticulous approach to practice, their goals for Global Champs, and why, at Crime City, nobody ever really retires—they’re just taking a break.
