In this episode of Power Through the 4th Whistle, I sit down with captains and skaters from Rose City Rollers’ Wheels of Justice (WOJ) and Axels of Annihilation (AOA) to talk about an unforgettable playoff run—and making roller derby history.
Amara-Can Gangster, Trinity, Darth, and Mia Palau take us inside AOA’s historic upset over Angel City, Darth’s unforgettable final jam, and the emotional moment AOA secured its invitation to Global Champs as the first B team ever to qualify. We also dig into what makes Rose City’s two teams function as one united program, from shared strategy and practices to developing skaters and supporting each other on and off the track, harmonizing with the same melody.
Plus, we hear about WOJ’s silver-medal finish, what they learned from their loss to Denver, both teams’ goals heading into Malmö, and what it means to represent Rose City on the global stage.
One league. Two teams. One heart. And a trip to Sweden they’ll never forget.
