We had a good time. We just wanted a little more.

This week on Zero Dark Nerdy, we're sitting down with our full review of Supergirl — the DCU's big summer blockbuster — and honestly it's a mixed bag and we got opinions! Milly Alcock is fantastic, Jason Momoa as Lobo is simply undeniable. The cast all around brings real energy to their roles, and there's plenty of action-packed fun to keep you in your seat. When this movie is firing on all cylinders, you can feel the potential of where this DCU era COULD go.

But we'd be doing you dirty if we didn't keep it real — the script and plot don't quite match the talent on screen, the pacing gets a little wobbly, and we are still grieving the Blondie-esque trailer soundtrack that never made it into the final film. It also feels like a movie with a few too many cooks in the kitchen, and that shows. Not a bad time at the theater by any means — just one we probably won't be revisiting at home.

We dig into all of it, the highs, the frustrations, and what we're hoping the DCU takes away from this one going forward.
