Annette Mullaney first came to my attention when I saw her hilarious videos taking selfies with ICE agents and getting their on-camera reactions to her saying, well, things ICE agents might get in trouble for.
We since worked together on a Climate Defiance video disrupting a Rahm Emanuel event, and I've loved seeing more of her comedy and her videos from Delaney Hall.
I feel that Annette, like a lot of the guests I feature, is a kindred spirit trying to use her gift of comedy to disrupt the status quo and make protesting look fun and enticing, not something to be scared of.
I loved learning more of her backstory, how she learned Arabic hoping to change American foreign policy, found out that would be near impossible to do from the inside, and has never given up her dream of trying to educate people about how we can fix things –– she just does it through humor now.
