In Quell’s Mind: Are The Elders Alive - S2 E7

Trepp gets answers about her brother Anil. She discovers he woke Quell whose stack was infected by the consciousness of an Elder. We discover the Founders killed the Elders to take their planet, and this consciousness has made a pact with Quell to kill the Founders but let the planet live. Kovacs and the team (Poe and Digg) help separate the Elder from Quell, breaking the pact and putting Harlan’s World in peril. At the end of the episode, Carrera appears to be carrying the consciousness of the Elder infected in the VR world used to separate Quell from the consciousness.
