Debbie Fones and her daughter Deverrie Schiller were best of friends and had recently moved back to Debbie's hometown of California City. It was a small desert town when Debbie left and it had doubled in size when she moved back. Not in the best way. But she felt safe enough being surrounded by family and old friends and with her daughter, Deverrie by her side.

The unimaginable happened one night in June of 2016 when Deverrie did not return home after a walk with a friend to a convenient store not far away. Deverrie was an adult and while she and Debbie were very close she was trying not to smother her daughter.

Debbie gets a text the next morning that a body has been found at a community park gathering place across the street from their home. Debbie gets in her car, looks for Deverrie, texts every one of her friends that she knows when she cannot get Deverrie to call her back

Then...the police are at her door giving her the worst news.

Who killed Deverrie Schiller? More than ONE someone knows.

There is STILL a $25,000.00 reward that remains active for information leading to an arrest.
