Episode 177- Beyond Awareness: Using VR to Transform Indigenous Care

Dela

Hello everyone, welcome to another exciting episode of VR in Education, where we explore how virtual reality is being used to transform teaching and learning.

Today I’m joined by Dr. Kim English, a nursing educator and researcher whose work explores Indigenous health equity, anti-racist practice, and immersive learning.

We’ll be focusing on her award-recognized VR simulation around Indigenous care, designed to help nursing students better understand the experiences of Indigenous Peoples within healthcare. We’ll also explore whether immersive learning can help move students beyond awareness toward meaningful changes in practice and behaviour.
