In this Luke study, Monte Judah begins in Luke 15 with the setting: tax collectors and sinners drawing near to hear Yeshua, while Pharisees complain that He receives them and eats with them. Yeshua answers with three parables that reveal what Heaven values most: repentance.

First, the parables of the lost sheep and lost coin teach that there is more joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents than ninety-nine who believe they need no repentance. Monte emphasizes that while modern ministry can become obsessed with signs and healings, the greatest miracle in God’s eyes is a transformed life—repentance that turns someone back to Him.

Then, the prodigal son unfolds as both a picture of grace and mercy and, at a deeper level, a prophetic hint toward Israel’s restoration. Monte explains the contrast between the younger son who squanders his inheritance and returns humbled, and the older son who resents the Father’s generosity. The story exposes the tension between human demands for “fairness” and God’s willingness to restore what was lost.

Monte also presents a prophetic layer: the “fatted calf” imagery as a pointer to Ephraim and the prophesied reunification of Ephraim and Judah (Ezekiel 37; Isaiah 11). He connects this to the modern Messianic movement, where many non-Jewish believers are drawn to Torah, Israel, and Messiah—raising questions and conflicts that echo the “older brother” response.

Moving into Luke 16, Yeshua teaches the parable of the unrighteous manager—a lesson on wisdom, relationships, resolving conflicts, and the danger of serving wealth. Monte stresses that believers must prioritize God over money, and that many money problems are really judgment problems.

Finally, Monte tackles a frequently misused passage: Luke 16:16–17. Rather than teaching that the Gospel replaces Torah, Yeshua reinforces Torah’s permanence—it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of the letter of the law to fail.

The episode concludes with a preview of the next study: Lazarus and the rich man.
