Tonight is our most ambitious project to date as we compress the entirety of a years worth of podcasts we called, "From the Corner to the Deuce" into one long song inspired by Meatloaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Over the past year, we worked our way through David Simon’s television career, from Homicide: Life on the Street and The Corner through The Wire, Generation Kill, Treme, Show Me a Hero, The Deuce, The Plot Against America and We Own This City. Along the way, the same questions kept resurfacing: What happens when people enter institutions believing they can change them? What happens when those institutions reward survival over purpose? And how long can idealism survive the machinery? Tonight, all of those conversations become one story. Cops, addicts, soldiers, dockworkers, politicians, musicians and hustlers collide in a rock opera about people trying to save their cities, their communities and themselves. This is Baltimore. The Gods will not save you. This is From the Corner to the Deuce.
