Matthew 20:1-16 | The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard

This week we turn to the Parable of the Vineyard, where a landowner pays every worker the same wage regardless of how many hours they put in. We explore how this parable answers the question posed by the rich young ruler and echoed by Peter: what must I do to gain eternal life? Jesus overturns the assumption that God's kingdom is earned through effort, revealing instead a kingdom built on lavish, scandalous generosity one that reaches those we'd least expect. Eternal life isn't a wage we work for; it's a gift we receive.
