"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I look at the Mortal Kombat movies. In the first segment, I talk about my history with the games, and how that played into the first two movies in the 1990s. I also get into why I thought the first one worked better than the second. In the second segment I talk about the two 2020s movies, giving my thoughts on them, and why I think they may have a ceiling of $125-150 million in earnings. Then I give my own ideas for how I might make the film series profitable. Finally, in the third segment I talk about my 2022 book "Holtman Arms," giving some background on how I came up with the story and characters, and how the loss of our cat led to the creation of one of the characters in honor of him.
