Pelé was more than a footballer. Born Edson Arantes do Nascimento in Brazil in 1940, he became a global sporting icon before adulthood, won three World Cups, turned Santos into an international attraction, and later helped introduce football to a wider American audience with the New York Cosmos. This episode of Compact Biographies follows the boy from Três Corações who became known around the world as O Rei, the King.
