WELCOME BACK TO RACCOON CITY! 🧟♂️☣️
It's Night 17 of The Geekz 31 Days of Horror, and tonight we're reviewing RESIDENT EVIL (2026) — the newest big-screen reinvention of Capcom's legendary survival-horror franchise.
Directed by Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind Barbarian and Weapons, this new Resident Evil follows Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, an ordinary medical courier who gets caught in a horrific race for survival as the T-virus outbreak turns one terrifying night into complete chaos.
Rather than simply retelling one of the games, Resident Evil (2026) tells an original story set around the events of Resident Evil 2, bringing back Raccoon City, Umbrella, infected creatures, limited ammunition, survival-horror tension, and plenty of familiar details for longtime gamers.
But did they FINALLY make the Resident Evil movie fans have been waiting for?
Join The Geekz as we break down the story, zombies, monsters, Umbrella Corporation connections, video-game Easter eggs, scares, gore, action, and how well the movie captures the feeling of actually playing Resident Evil.
