Redshirts and sixth-year seniors will no longer be a thing in college sports as the Division I Council voted unanimously to pass the "5-to-play-5" rule on Tuesday, meaning athletes will have five years to play five seasons. The clock begins when they enroll as a freshman or when they turn 19, whichever comes first.
