NEWSROUND WITH DAVE DAVIS | PART 3
Dave Davis rounds off another edition of Newsround for Anfield Index with the latest Liverpool FC transfer news, contract developments and growing questions surrounding Andoni Iraola's midfield plans.
Alex Scott and Lamine Camara are back in the spotlight as Liverpool continue assessing their options ahead of the January transfer window and summer 2027.
Dave discusses reporting from The Athletic suggesting Liverpool are leading contenders for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, although the club's preference is understood to be waiting until the summer rather than completing an immediate January deal.
But can Liverpool afford to wait?
With Alexis Mac Allister's contract situation unresolved and Ryan Gravenberch struggling to convince, Dave questions whether the Reds could be preparing for significant midfield changes.
He also examines whether a new signing would limit Trey Nyoni's opportunities, arguing that Liverpool should be building a squad with genuine depth rather than relying on youngsters to cover every injury.
There's further discussion surrounding Julian Ward's growing list of responsibilities, including the futures of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Mac Allister and Rio Ngumoha.
With Fabrizio Romano reporting that Liverpool are working on a new contract for Ngumoha, Dave insists the club must move quickly to secure one of Europe's most exciting young talents.
Attention also turns to Gilberto Mora, with Iraola declining to discuss the highly rated Mexican youngster when questioned about Liverpool's reported interest.
Meanwhile, Paris Brunner is another emerging name linked with Liverpool, although Dave questions whether another striker should be a priority given the club's existing attacking options.
With Liverpool enjoying three consecutive victories, Dave concludes by examining how the club can strengthen its squad without disrupting the promising development of its young players.
Will Liverpool sign Alex Scott or Lamine Camara, and could a major midfield overhaul be on the horizon?
All this and more in Part 3 of Newsround with Dave Davis, exclusively on Anfield Index.
