It's absolutely bizarre that the first live action adaptation of Starship Troopers from director Paul Verhoeven bombed as badly as it did. Not only that but critics also seemed to have completely missed the not very subtle social commetary in relation to the rise of facism in western society. Now, for the most part I hope, people seem to know better and this movie is recognised for both its satirical nature and incredible action sequences.
