Hong Kong prepares for a state funeral honoring Tung Chee-hwa, the city’s first post-handover leader, who died at 89. Three condolence points will open this weekend for public tributes, while the Jockey Club cancels Sunday races in respect. The ceremony includes a private vigil, public memorial, and procession — a rare honor reserved for national figures like Tung, who also served as vice-chair of China’s political consultative body.
