Is Mikel Oyarzabal WASTING His Career at Real Sociedad? EP: 30

In episode 30 of The Tiki Tapas Podcast, Vic (@LaLigaVic) and Rahul (@LaLigaLondon) did a deep dive into one of LaLiga’s most perenially underrated players: Mikel Oyarzabal.

The World Cup winner was recently caught in a social media storm, after a Manchester United fan accused Oyarzabal of ‘wasting his career’ at Real Sociedad.

The pair discussed why this is not the case, and explored why so many players from the Basque region show such fierce loyalty to their clubs.

Oyarzabal’s Spain National Team legacy was also discussed, with the striker’s legacy compared to the likes of Raul, David Villa and Fernando Morientes, before Rahul explained why he feels the 29-year-old is this generation’s answer to Francesco Totti.
