Okay so, baby, buckle up, because this one is a whole rabbit hole. Back in the 2000s, Perez Hilton practically WAS the internet. The original gossip blogger, the self-crowned queen of all media, millions of people refreshing his site every morning like it was breakfast. Then 15 years later, that same man came apart in real time on a TikTok live, in front of thousands of people, and the internet did not try to save him. It packaged him. So I went all the way down this rabbit hole to ask the question nobody in the comments is asking. Not "can you believe him," but who is getting PAID to keep the whole thing running exactly like this. Because the deeper I dug, the less this looked like one man's worst night and the more it looked like a machine. An algorithm that rewards the collapse. A crash-out economy of reaction channels eating off people's worst days. A real company that reportedly ran an experiment on 15 million real users. And a Black Mirror episode from 2011 that stopped feeling like fiction. He built the Coliseum. Then he got fed to it. He is not some monster the internet found.
