Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito was murdered in August of 2021 by her fiance Brian Laundrie as they drove across the United States filming their new life in a van. The case drew massive global attention and raised questions about intimate partner violence, domestic assault, family ethics, and how we consume and platform stories of missing or abused women. We're going to dive in here and see how the story is presented and what communication concepts can help us understand what may have been going on.
