I’ve always had this deep knowing that the kind of intimate, expansive, soul-level love I desire is meant for me. And yet, knowing that and actually experiencing it are two very different things...
For a long time, dating could feel overwhelming, dysregulating, and filled with pressure around when it was all going to happen. But lately, I’ve been approaching dating differently - and I’m noticing that when I change the way I participate in the experience, the experience itself starts to change.
In this episode, I share what’s creating a different experience for me:
- Using dating apps as a TOOL, rather than treating them as the end-all-be-all of finding love
- How to create space from dating apps when they become overstimulating or dysregulating
- Vetting before dating
- Releasing the pressure and expectations of what a date needs to be
- Focusing on one connection at a time rather than getting lost in an abundance of options
- Choosing to explore a different type of person than I may have historically been drawn to
- Recognizing that something unfamiliar can feel uncomfortable without it necessarily being wrong
- Practicing discernment, observation and receiving rather than jumping ahead into fantasy or future projection
- Inviting God into the process and asking for support in releasing expectations, surrendering and trusting the plan
