Long before the modern flying saucer era began in 1947, people were watching strange things in the sky and writing them down. UFO researcher and Flying Disc Press publisher Philip Mantle joins TruthSeekah to explore the ancient astronaut angle of the UFO phenomenon, from the Bible's chariots of fire to Norway's scientific Project Hessdalen.
Philip recalls reading Erich von Daniken's Chariots of the Gods as a young man and later meeting von Daniken himself in Vienna. He calls the Bible probably the most paranormal book you could buy, and he and TruthSeekah walk through the scriptural passages that believers have read as early UFO reports, the clouds by day and fire by night, and the angelic chariots that maneuver in ways no modern aircraft can match. TruthSeekah shares how the late Patrick Cook's bible-ufo.com research opened his mind beyond the idea that every encounter is demonic, and Philip agrees that the phenomenon is not one simple thing.
The conversation also covers the Hessdalen lights, mysterious orbs seen in a remote Norwegian valley since the early 1980s. Philip explains how UFO Norway and UFO Sweden set up a monitoring base there, how the late J. Allen Hynek visited in 1984 and called it a UFO laboratory, and how the site now runs a 24/7 scientific monitoring station with a live webcam under the direction of Erling Strand.
