Jesus came to the world at a time when Israel had been dominated by a form of religion that had turned inauthenticity into an art form. Jesus’ goal was to teach people how to live from the heart. He radically deconstructed performance culture and the quest for outward religious appearance, teaching His disciples to embrace instead a spiritual life anchored in the real state of their hearts in relation to God and one another. 

Jesus invites us to an entirely new way of living by adopting authenticity as a core value. He calls us to ‘keep it real’ by pursuing a life of authentic love by renouncing inauthenticity and religious pretense. Jesus’ message is challenging but vital if we want to live from the heart.
