SEQUENCES PODCAST No 287
This edition explores two halves. The first half features layered melodic harmonics that create rich sonic textures and vivid musical images, as heard in recent releases by Hollan Holmes, Thaneco, and Billy Yfantis. The second half invites us into a world of ambient and experimental sounds, sometimes glowing warmly with organic spaciousness, as heard in the music of Steve Roach/Serena Gabriel, Zorza, and Forest Fang, contrasted with the raw atmospheres of Penelope Trappes, Agnes Haus, and Electronic Death Black Dogs. Additionally, it highlights the minimalist modular style of Ian Boddy's Serge Works and the surreal, abstract electroacoustic sound worlds of Natasha Barrett.
These days, we often hear sad news of cherished musicians in our community passing away. To honour Serge Devadder, who left us in March, we’ve selected a song from his 2018 album “Taxon,” which immerses listeners in a captivating blend of acoustic sounds and creativity.
