This week we have a look at the 1969 Japanese fantasy horror film Yokai Monsters: Along with Ghosts. This is Episode 490! The third and final film in Daiei's "Yokai Monsters" trilogy, Along with Ghosts (Japanese title: Tōkaidō Obake Dōchū, "The Haunted Journey Along Tokaido") was directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda and Yoshiyuki Kuroda, released March 21, 1969 on a double bill with Gamera vs. Guiron. Unlike the prior two entries, this one plays largely as a samurai melodrama with the yokai kept mostly offscreen until the climax.
