PROJECT AUDION LIVE SUMMER SPECIAL Part 2: The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger is one of the definitive radio dramas of the 20th century, running for thousands of episodes and multiple decades; and spawning a still-watched TV series and multiple movie versions. William D. Tate, the mayor of Grapevine, Texas, who marks his 50th year in office in 2026, was a Lone Ranger fan as a young boy, so as part of his celebrations this year, Project Audion cast him in his favorite childhood show. We even found a character for him to play named Mayor Tait, in an episode from April 13, 1949, which was later reworked into a TV episode.

Performed before a live studio audience in July 2026, our cast included: Sheela Bailey, AJ Glendenning, Gary Layton, Sean Massey, Reg Platt, Susan Platt, Ken Raney, Kim Titus, Mayor William D. Tate, Greg Vestel

Produced and directed by Larry Groebe
