Private equity has been making a strong push into the veterinary industry. Just 10 years ago, veterinary clinics owned by private equity investment firms and corporations accounted for only 8% of the industry, whereas now, that number is closer to 30% and growing. What's more, most of the time, pet parents cannot tell the difference between privately owned veterinary clinics and those held by big corporate or private equity firms.
