Samuel Stirpe on From Mormon to Gnostic: The Demiurge & the Divine

Get ready for an inspirational, touching journey of awakening as Samuel Stirpe discusses his book, This Surrender: From Joseph Smith to Marcion: My Journey Out of Mormonism and Into the Arms of the Father of Jesus. Tracing a personal spiritual transition, this show follows a journey from an upbringing in Latter-day Saint culture and mission preparations to a period of secular atheism following a life-altering stroke. Sam’s narrative dives into a dramatic theological transformation sparked by discovering second-century Christian teacher Marcion of Sinope and esoteric Gnostic scripture. We’ll examine the key contrast between Jehovah—understood as a secondary creator or Demiurge governing the material realm—and the Monad, the transcendent Father of Light revealed by Jesus Chris. You are invited to explore deep themes spanning early Christian canons and divine emanations to modern simulation theory and the soul’s ultimate quest for Gnosis.
