The perspective on medical care changes when the doctor becomes a patient.
In the October episode, host Dr Hannah Harris (DTB's Clinical Editor and GP) speaks with the newly appointed Editor-in-Chief, Dr Gordon Mallarkey, to introduce themselves to the DTB podcast listeners and discuss the latest edition of the journal.
Hannah summarises her editorial about doctor-patient communication, reflecting on medical gaslighting and her personal experience as a breast cancer patient.
They also discuss a drug review on Inbrija, an inhaled powder form of levodopa, used to treat intermittent 'OFF' motor episodes in Parkinson’s disease, and conclude with a review of spasticity management, covering non-pharmacological, oral, injectable, and surgical options.
