In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, the challenge of staying cool and safe during this summer's historic heat wave has been especially burdensome as cooling costs are expected to hit a record high. Many will rely on air conditioning even more than usual during this record heat, but the financial strain of paying more than ever for the electricity to power these appliances has left many Americans sweating it out.

Also the latest on the war with Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday that the United States remains willing to negotiate with Iran but warned there "will be consequences" if Tehran continues to violate its commitments. Speaking at the ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, hours after U.S. forces completed their 11th consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets, Rubio said Washington remains open to diplomacy but questioned whether Iran is negotiating in good faith.
