Theme: Followers of Christ should not live as those who do not know the true and living God but rather should strive to live a new way as they have learned Christ. In this passage we see that believers should reject worldly philosophies, such as striving for a better version of oneself, and instead follow the biblical call to put off the old self and put on the new self created in God's likeness. In order to do this, we need to be renewing our minds through Scripture, recognizing the danger of a hardened heart, and actively mortifying sin rather than merely managing it. True fulfillment and holiness are found only in knowing Christ and living according to His truth!
