Cristiano Ronaldo’s public fallout with Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus has made headlines this week, after the Portuguese striker and one of the greatest footballers of all time broke his silence on what happened between them, leading to him leaving the Portugal camp early.
In a lengthy statement posted across his social media pages, Ronaldo recounts the “promises” the manager made to him about playing time and the games in which he would be used. He then alleges that the manager went back on what he had told Cristiano in private, substituting him early in one game and leaving him on the bench for another.
Piers Morgan has been staunchly defending Ronaldo’s statement online, having previously revealed on Football Uncensored earlier this week that the one thing Ronaldo does not tolerate is lying and disrespect.
So does Portugal’s greatest-ever player have a point? Or, as many have argued online, is he behaving unprofessionally, with the manager having every right to treat him like any other player?
Joining us to debate the entire story are TalkSport’s Jason Cundy, former player and commentator Andy Gray, and sports television host Richard Keys.
