Lindsay Clancy Part 2: The Patrick Theories, Psychosis & What This Case Really Raises

Dela

PART 2 of a 2 part Episode.

⚠️ Content Warning: This episode discusses the deaths of children, suicide, psychiatric illness, psychosis and other potentially distressing topics.

We’re starting Part 2 exactly where my own rabbit hole into the Lindsay Clancy case began: Patrick Clancy.

There are countless theories circulating online questioning Patrick’s version of events and suggesting that there may be more to what happened that night. In this episode, Dr. Vassel and I go through some of the things people are pointing to, the alleged inconsistencies that have fueled those theories, and whether there could be other explanations for what people are seeing.

And then our conversation goes somewhere I think is even more important.

We get deeper into Lindsay’s mental state, psychosis, severe sleep deprivation, psychiatric medications and medication changes — and the difficulty of determining what was actually happening inside her mind at the time.

We talk about the defense, the medical system surrounding Lindsay, the limitations of psychiatric care, and the uncomfortable questions this case raises about responsibility, treatment and what can happen when someone continues to deteriorate despite actively seeking help.

There is so much about this case being debated online, and the trial is still unfolding. Some of what we discuss — particularly theories involving Patrick — is speculation and has not been established as fact. We’re discussing those claims because they have become a significant part of the public conversation surrounding this case, not presenting them as proven.

For those following the trial, Law&Crime Network has been providing courtroom coverage on YouTube.
