What does it take to build a business around one of the most important things in people's lives: their children?

Ari Last is the Founder and CEO of Bubble, the UK's largest on-demand childcare service. The idea came shortly after he became a father himself, when he experienced first-hand how difficult it was to find reliable childcare when he needed it.

Drawing on his experience in online marketplaces, Ari saw an opportunity to use technology to solve a problem that millions of parents face. But how do you persuade parents to trust an app to help them find someone to look after their children?

In this conversation, Ari shares how Bubble approached that challenge. We also explore the realities of entrepreneurship, from dealing with self-doubt and making decisions with imperfect information to learning from mistakes. Ari reflects on what he would do differently if starting again, including why customer acquisition deserves more attention from the outset, and why a great product is only part of the equation.
